Weave, Sketch, or Animate
Relax and create your own piece through weaving, sketching, or simple animation.
Step into a creative studio space designed for preteens and teens who enjoy making and creating.
Participants can relax into the process and choose their path, whether weaving on small looms, sketching, or exploring simple animation. Each creative creates something of their own, following what naturally draws their interest.
This is an open studio experience, allowing creatives to move at their own pace, explore freely, and engage as deeply as they’d like.
The space is calm and engaging, offering a chance to reset, create, and feel a sense of joy in their own expression.
This experience reflects LEAFCoLearning Collective’s Summer Studio, where creatives are supported in developing their own ideas through hands-on, self-directed work.

LEAF CoLearning Collective
LEAFCoLearning Collective is a creative space where young people can create, collaborate, and explore at their own pace, currently offering Summer Studio for ages 11–16.
LEAFCoLearning Collective is a co-learning space where creatives are given the time, space, and support to create in ways that feel natural to them.
Summer Studio is our current offering, held at Davidson Town Hall in partnership with Davidson Parks and Recreation. It’s designed for creatives entering 6th/7th through 11th grade who enjoy making, building, and creating.
Creatives move through an open studio environment where they can work collaboratively or settle into their own process, exploring multimedia including weaving on looms, drawing, painting on easels, and filmmaking.
They create their own path, choosing how deeply they want to engage with each medium from start to finish. The space is calm and intentional, allowing them to relax, feel joyful in their expression, and build confidence through their work.
