James Web Space Telescope Recap

February 6, 2021 News

Wow!  What a day February 5th, 2021 was!!!

STEAMfest Explorer’s were afforded the opportunity to learn about NASA’s James Web Space Telescope in a live stream with Dr. Alvaro Labiano, Associate Researcher with Centro de Astrobilogía (CAB, CSIC-INTA), European Space Agency Center from Madrid, Spain.  If you missed the live stream, you can still watch the recording on the STEAMfest YouTube Channel!  (We hope you will subscribe and like our channel.)

Unfortunately, one of the students watching the live stream did not have her question addressed.  Dr. Labiano was kind enough to address Woodlawn student, Corinne, in a personal message.

STEAMfest would like to thank Woodlawn teacher Dr. Gerardo Vázquez for organizing this unique and exclusive opportunity.  We also want to thank Dr. Vázquez’s 8th grade Middle School class for their wonderful questions and exuberance during the live stream.

Lastly, we invite other STEAMfest Explorers to ask questions and journal about the recording through their MySTEAMfest account.  You can link to the activity under Woodlawn School’s Creator page.  Look for the James Web Space Telescope link under Woodlawn’s list of STEAMfest Activites.
