Help create a giant community artwork at STEAMfest. Guests can choose a section of a large mandala flower poster and color it using colored pencils, adding their own creativity to a shared masterpiece.
The Giant Mandala is a collaborative community art activity that invites STEAMfest guests of all ages to help create one large shared piece of artwork. A giant black-and-white poster filled with detailed mandala flowers is placed on a table along with colored pencils, and each guest is encouraged to choose a section to color.
Some participants may add just a few colors to a flower, leaf, or pattern, while others may spend more time filling in a larger area. As the event goes on, the poster gradually transforms into a vibrant community-created mural shaped by many different hands and artistic styles.
STEAMteam
STEAMfest is made possible with the help of hundreds of organizations and volunteers, both within the Woodlawn School Community and without. The STEAMteam is responsible for the planning, promotion, organization, and execution of STEAMfest.
Each year the STEAMteam creates a number of activity booths based on the teams skills and experience.
